Bourg-Saint-Maurice is the end of the TGV line in the Tarentaise: beyond it there are no more rails, only road. It is the station for the Haute-Tarentaise resorts — Les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes, Val d'Isère, La Rosière — and it receives both the TGV from Paris and the direct Eurostar from London on Saturdays in season.
These are firm fares, for the whole vehicle and not per person. They are also our shortest journeys, and therefore the cheapest on the site.

We wait for you in front of the station building, at the exit of the hall. The station is small and the platform opens straight onto the forecourt: you cannot miss us. Your driver sends you his number by text the evening before.
If you arrive on the Eurostar, on a Saturday, the flow is packed into an hour and the forecourt fills up. We know it, and we stand on the main exit side with your name clearly visible.

Allow 10 minutes between stepping off the train and leaving: the time to collect your bags from the platform and load them. Unlike a plane, there is no belt to wait for and no customs. If the train is late, we track it: nothing for you to do.
A late train costs you nothing. The driver shifts his day, the price does not move.
The funicular only serves Arc 1600, and it stops early. Shared shuttles, for their part, wait until they are full and serve several resorts one after another. On a forty-minute journey that can double your time on the road, with tired children and a boot full of equipment.
A private transfer leaves at your time, goes straight to your address, and costs from €90 for the whole vehicle — not per person. For four people it is often cheaper than a shuttle ticket each.
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, everything is uphill. Les Arcs by the hairpin road or La Rosière by the climb out of Séez, Tignes and Val d'Isère through the gorges. These are short journeys but entirely at altitude: this is where winter equipment and knowing the road count most.
Our vehicles run winter tyres from November to April, with chains permanently on board, and the driver checks the state of the road before every climb.
Winter equipment requirements apply municipality by municipality: the official list is published by the Sécurité routière. Live road conditions are available on Savoie Route.
