Home › Courchevel › What it costs
Most sites answer “from £39” or “request a quote”. Both dodge the question. Here is the price, what it covers, why it changes on a Saturday, and how it compares with every other way of getting up there.
1 · The price, plainly
Geneva Airport to Courchevel, one way, whole vehicle for up to eight passengers:
| Day | Price | For four | For eight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | €480 | €120 each | €60 each |
| Saturday and Sunday | €580 | €145 each | €73 each |
This price is firm. It does not move with the traffic, the weather, your arrival time, or a delayed flight.
2 · Why “from £39” is not comparable
The headline prices you see elsewhere — £36, £39, €44.50 — are per person, on a shared shuttle. It is not the same service and it is not the same final figure.
For a family of four, £39 each is already £156, roughly €180. At that price you share the vehicle with strangers, you wait for the minibus to fill — one to three hours depending on other people’s flights — and then you go round every other drop-off before your own.
Our €480 covers the vehicle. For four that is €120 each for an immediate departure and a direct drop-off. For eight it is €60 each, less than most shared shuttles.
3 · Why the weekend costs €100 more
It is not a commercial surcharge, and nobody else explains it. Saturday is rental changeover day across the Alps: one set of guests leaves in the morning, the next arrives in the afternoon. The whole of Europe changes resort on the same day.
What that means for the driver: the road is saturated between 10 am and 4 pm, the last few kilometres before Courchevel can take twice as long, and a Geneva-Courchevel return that fits into six hours on a Tuesday needs eight or nine on a February Saturday. The vehicle does one job instead of two.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday it is €480. If your dates are flexible, moving by one day saves you a hundred euros.
4 · What the price covers — and what it doesn’t
Included: the whole vehicle, the driver, tolls, fuel, flight tracking, ninety minutes of waiting after landing, skis and snowboards, approved child seats, and drop-off at the exact address — including the steep lanes of Courchevel 1850.
Not included: nothing. There is no luggage supplement, no night supplement, no school-holiday supplement, no booking fee. The figure quoted is the figure you pay.
A tip is not expected. The driver is paid out of the price shown.
5 · The other airports, often cheaper
Geneva is not the closest airport to Courchevel. If your flights allow it, compare:
| Airport | Distance | Journey time | Midweek |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chambéry CMF | 109 km | 1 h 55 | €380 |
| Geneva GVA | 148 km | 2 h 55 | €480 |
| Grenoble GNB | 175 km | 2 h 45 | €480 |
| Lyon LYS | 187 km | 2 h 50 | €480 |
Chambéry is closest and cheapest, but it takes only a handful of flights, mostly on Saturdays in season. Geneva stays the default because it is served all year from almost everywhere.
Arriving by train is different again: see Moûtiers to Courchevel.
6 · Against the other ways up
For four people with skis, on a February Saturday:
| Option | Door to door | Total for four |
|---|---|---|
| Train + taxi from Moûtiers | 5 to 7 h | ≈ €260 |
| Shared shuttle | 4 to 6 h | ≈ €200 |
| Hire car | 3 h | ≈ €350 + fuel, tolls, parking |
| Our private transfer | 2 h 55 | €580 |
A private transfer is not the cheapest option and we will not pretend otherwise. It is the fastest, the only one with no waiting, and the only one that puts you down at the chalet door.
The price calculator gives the exact figure for your dates in seconds, with no commitment. Full detail on the resort is on the Courchevel transfers page, and the full comparison in the.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price per person or for the vehicle?
For the whole vehicle, up to eight passengers. For four, €480 is €120 each; for eight, €60.
Does the price change if my flight is delayed?
No. We track the flight and move the pick-up automatically. Ninety minutes of waiting is included, at no extra cost.
Why €580 on a Saturday instead of €480?
Because it is rental changeover day across the valley: the road is saturated and the vehicle does one job instead of two. Moving by one day saves a hundred euros.
Is there a supplement for skis?
No. Skis, snowboards and boot bags are included. We state one pair per seat — eight pairs in an eight-seat van.
Can we pay the driver?
Yes. Online, over WhatsApp or directly to the driver: the price is the same.
What does a return trip cost?
Twice the one-way fare, calculated on the day of each leg. Out on a Tuesday and back on a Saturday does not cost the same as two midweek legs.
