1 · Who this vehicle is for
Families of 4 to 7 with ski equipment. This is the main use case, by far. A family of five with five pairs of skis, five week-long suitcases and two rucksacks fits in a V-Class without anyone holding a bag on their knees.
Groups of friends who want to travel together. Seven seats is a whole chalet in one car, instead of two saloons to coordinate and pay for twice.
Passengers who want room to themselves. Seven individual seats, real legroom and a separate boot. Over two hours on the road, the difference shows.
2 · What is on board
- Wi-Fi on board, on request to the driver.
- Bottled water provided, summer and winter.
- USB-C and Lightning chargers, plus a 12 V socket.
- Approved baby seats and boosters, fitted before you arrive, at no extra cost.
- Tinted windows at the rear.
- Independent air conditioning at the rear.
- Non-smoking vehicle, cleaned between every journey.
An appropriate restraint is compulsory up to age 10 or 135 cm: the standards in force are set out by the French road safety authority.
3 · Skis, snowboards and luggage: the real figures
The question we are asked most often is “will it all fit”. A concrete answer for the V-Class:
- Seven passengers with a cabin bag each and four ski bags: yes.
- Five passengers with five hold suitcases, five pairs of skis and two snowboards: yes.
- Seven passengers with seven hold suitcases and seven pairs of skis: no, you need the Sprinter or a second vehicle. Tell us when booking and we check before confirming.
We would rather tell you beforehand than in front of the boot. A customer stuck in an airport car park with two suitcases too many is a ruined evening for everybody.
4 · In the mountains, in winter
The model we run is 4MATIC equipped (four-wheel drive), with winter tyres fitted from November to April and chains permanently on board. That is what lets it climb to Val Thorens or Tignes on a snowy day when a rear-wheel-drive saloon stays at the bottom.
The driver checks the state of the road before every climb. If conditions mean driving at 30 km/h for the last fifteen kilometres, he drives at 30 km/h: the extra time is already built into the price, nobody has any reason to hurry.
The municipalities where winter equipment is required from 1 November to 31 March are listed by the French road safety authority.
5 · What it costs
The V-Class is charged at the same fixed fare as the Vito on airport-to-resort routes: the displayed price for Geneva → Courchevel is the same in either vehicle. You do not pay for the upgrade on those journeys.
The exact amount depends on the route, the season (high season during school holidays and the festive period) and, on certain resort-to-resort routes, the weekend. Everything is stated before payment.
The price is shown before you pay anything. Enter the pickup, the destination and the date: the Mercedes V-Class amount appears in about thirty seconds, and that is what you will pay.
